Dear Ronnie,  So sorry to hear of your mother's passing.  Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for you and your family.  Dee was a very special lady and I always looked up to her for her humor, love of her career, and love of family.  She was so good to me and my parents and I will always have a special and fond remembrance of her.

  On behalf of the Gadsden Regional Hospice staff we want to express our deepest sympathy to you and the family on Ms. Dee's death.  It was our privelege to care and walk with her and your family during the last days of her life here on this Earth.  She was and is a joy to know.

Sheila and Sandra, so sorry about Dee. She was a sweet lady and Im sure will be missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

For over forty years "Mrs.Vineyard", ran my father, Dr. Ben Steinberg's medical office.  She greeted everyone with a comforting word, acknowledgment of their importance and made them feel that everything was under control.  She was a source of strength and support for my father and family, always sharing a good story and laughter and always there for us when someone was ill.  When my father retired in 1994, Mrs. Vineyard, who could now be referred to as "Dee", came by several times a week, usually with some treat in hand, to play gin.  It was a competitive game but the time was spent remembering patients and their families.  As I observed this, I always caught myself expecting to see someone walk through the door for their office visit.  
Ronnie, thank you for sharing her with us.  She was a rare and genuine treasure.

Dearest Ronnie, Lisa and Sheila, I am writing to you to send you our most sincere condolences, from the Steinberg family to the Vinyard family. Ya know I can remember the first time I met Dee. I could barely see her over the desk, you see I was only 6. My father always said that Dee "made" the practice and she did. She remembered every patient's name and when appropriate introduced them to each other. So sitting in his waiting room was kind of like sitting in a living room at a good friend's home.She assisted him in procedures, did paper work and helped out around our house on occassion when absolutely neceesary.. She also kept him well stocked in those little coca-colas and kool cigarettes.Dee was also a greatsource of solace and strength to my mother which we all appreciated..  After BullMoose and my mother both passed my father, Dee and the gang would gather several  evenings for cards, coffee and refreshments.They helped ease each others' pain and pass those lonely evening times  when a spouse who has been lost seems to hurt the worst.I know now because I recently lost my boyfriend of 17 years to cancer. So I understand your loss and say what I know my parents would say we miss you Dee and look torward seeing eadh other in heaven. Much more love,Brenda Steinberg

Ronnie and Family, your Mom was a "blessing" to know. She was a "beautiful" person inside and out. My husband, John and I wish that we could be there, but just know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

We are so thankful to know Ms. Dee; she has touched our lives and the lives of many to God's Glory.  Ms. Dee has certainly left her mark on this earth.  She was a devoted wife, mother and nurse,friend, and aunt and the list goes on.  Ms. Dee will always be part of our lives with many cherished memories.

Amy was speaking on health to a group of women.  When someone answered a question she gave a gift.  Ms Dee said "I know all the answers but I am waiting on that gift to answer - it was in shower lotion."  Amy had special nurse bond; Dee aways supported her.
Brandon loved going to Ms. Dee's for lawn care; he got many visits with her too.

A very special lady has sadly left us.  I pray for the comfort only God can give to grace the hearts of her loved ones.  Ronnie, you were a great son to your mother.  I know this gave her great happiness.

Truly sorry to hear about your mom's death.  She was a remarkable woman and I always enjoyed her frankness---and those gold shoes when I would see her at the grocery store. Dee was one of a kind! I will NEVER forget her coffee cup collection around the kitchen ceiling. It inspired me to have my own collection...but I did not hang them. I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Aunt Dee. I feel blessed that I got to visit with her last Sunday. She still had a smile and knew who I was. I will always remember those moments with her. Aunt Dee was a wonderful woman and lived a great life. As with all of you, I consider Aunt Dee as family and I will miss her very much. I will always cherish the memories I have of Aunt Dee as we were growing up. I loved Aunt Dee and my love, thoughts and prayers will be with all of you during this difficult time.
