On the afternoon of Saturday, May 29, 2021 Caleb “Austin” Nelson suddenly passed away at the young age of only 29 years old.
Austin was the 2nd born son to Howard “Brown” Nelson and Pamela Gorgan-Bullock.
Austin leaves behind 3 brothers and 1 sister: Montana Nelson (Jessica), Gavin Nelson, Blane Nelson and Chasity Self.
He attended Gadsden City High School where he met his now ex-wife Kayla Todd (Sexton-Nelson). They married and created 3 beautiful children: Kaylie Elizabeth Nelson (11 years), Jaycie Diane Marie Nelson (8 years) and Caleb “Jaxon” Nelson (5 years).
Austin is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Ann Street, Maternal grandfather, Billy Grogan as well as his paternal grandparents, Howard Nelson and Thressia Nelson.
He is survived by his very special Mawmaw Beth, his much loved mother, Pamela Bullock, his father, Howard “Brown” Nelson, his 3 children and their mother, Kayla Todd, his nephew Zayden, his niece, Alice, his special mom, Kellie Hollingsworth, and special sister and brother, Kelsey Stovall and Kevin “KJ” Hollingsworth, along with many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Austin’s favorite times in his short life was time he spent with his family and his children. He loved being outside. Whether it was working on a car, camping, hiking, swimming or just hanging out with his friends and family. He was a “hands-on” dad. A perfect day to him would be digging in the dirt for worms with his babies or catching bugs or fishing and educating them about all of life’s “critters”!
He had a heart of gold! Always the first one to step up and help anyone who was in need. It made no difference to him if it was family, a friend or even a complete stranger.
Austin lived, loved and unfortunately died hard. He will never be forgotten for his love and good deeds.
There will not be a funeral at this time. However, if any of his friends or family would like to pay their respects we invite you to join us Friday, June 4, 2021 between 1:00 and 3:30 pm at 401 Walker Drive, Altoona, Alabama 35952.
In lieu of flowers we would like to request a donation of any amount to his “Go Fund Me” account on Facebook.
Fly high our sweet Austin. We love you.
