Billy "Rip" Reagan, 84, of Gadsden, passed away Friday, October 17. The funeral service will be Sunday, October 19, at 5 p.m. in the Gadsden City High School auditorium. Reverend Harvey Beck will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, at Forrest Cemetery.Rip attended the University of Alabama and Jacksonville State University. He loved teaching, writing music, and sharing his love of music with everyone.Rip was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; sister, Jerry Miller; parents, Rosa and Patrick Reagan; and brother, Junior Reagan.Survivors include his children, Kristy (Mark) Mason, Steve (Myra) Reagan; grandchildren, Justin (Kempten) Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Markie Mason, Justin Strawn; great-granddaughter, Braelyn Taylor; brother-in-law, Bill (Claudette) Ward; sister, Janice Killian; nieces, Trina Killian, Rochelle Ward, Gayla Hardegee; and nephews, Pat Miller and Terry Miller.Pallbearers will be Charles Hill, Jim Stackhouse, Pat Morrow, Pat Miller, Jack Floyd, Matthew Vance and Laney Boman.Honorary pallbearers will be the Gadsden City Show Band and all alumni of Gadsden State Show Band.
