Ed was born on January 4,1953, in St. Louis, MO the son of Carless and Mildred (West) Batey who preceded him in death. He worked for several years in the construction industry, building various things, painting and being a handyman. He also worked in the carnival industry as well. Ed's heart and soul was being in the outdoors; as he was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish, garden and planting tomatoes and peppers.
Survivors include: three daughters, Melisa Willard (Ricky) of Fulton, MO, Jennifer Anders (Pete) of Ashland, MO and Iris Bonham (Scott) of Moberly, MO; one brother, John Batey (Mary) of Fulton, MO; one sister, Karen Olson (Paul) of Fulton, MO; 10 grandchildren, Christina, Christopher, Jason, Jacob, Josh, Michael, Emilee, Taylor, Colton and Brenden; six great-grandchildren, Leah, Kingsley, Violet, Rhyslyn, Jason Ray and Maeve and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Brooklynne Willard; two brothers, Ray Hull and Kenny Hull and one sister, Virginia “Suge” McClure.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Debo Funeral Home from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will be in White Cloud Cemetery, Fulton, MO at a later date.
