John Bryan Rankin

John was born on October 1, 1940 in Callaway County, MO the son of Glenn and Margaret (Bryan) Rankin who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on July 1, 1964 to Carolyn Trask in New Bloomfield, MO. He was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge in Fulton, MO. John retired from MoDOT as a civil engineer in the early 90’s. After Carolyn and John retired, they enjoyed going fishing at Bennet Springs, visiting the casinos, and antiquing together. As a child, he liked playing and getting into mischief with his brother, cousins, and friends around the New Bloomfield area. John was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing, coaching, and watching sports -especially baseball. He adored his wife and family and in later years, he and Carolyn would take Sunday drives through the countryside of Callaway County.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Rankin of the home; one daughter, Amy Crane (David) of Fulton, MO; one brother, Bob Rankin (Judy) of Fulton, MO; two grandsons, Trask Crane and Mason Crane; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Burnett and Cindy Trask and niece and nephews, Bobby Rankin, Lynn Mantle, Brent Trask and Brian Trask. He was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Kenny Trask and Richard Burnett, and his stepmother, Crystal Rankin.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 10:30 am – 11:00 am at Debo Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Mallinckrodt officiating. Private burial will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton, MO.
