Chuck was born on February 21, 1942 in Fulton, MO the son of Max and Louise (Sullins) Nichols who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on July 18, 1981 in Mexico, MO to Delores Hampton. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. Chuck worked for Harbinson Walker for many years and then later retired from UPS as a driver. He was in the Teamsters Union, a member of the American Legion, Post 5 in Jefferson City, MO and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was also a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church in New Bloomfield, MO. Chuck enjoyed gardening, camping, working in his shop, riding his motorcycle and talking to his buddies on his CB radio. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include: his wife, Delores Nichols of the home; two sons, Brian Nichols (Dana) of West Plains, MO and Charles Bowers (Julie) of Fulton, MO; three daughters, Hallie Malone of Jefferson City, MO, Stephanie Laney (David) of Mokane, MO and Crystal Kempker (Chad) of Taos, MO; one brother, Richard Nichols of Fulton, MO; one sister, Sue Kronk of Fulton, MO; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Candance Nichols and Linda Bowers, his step-mother, Pauline Nichols and his brother-in-law Ray Kronk.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton, MO. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. James Shaver and Rev. James Talley officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, MO with full military honors.
