Berdeina S Cox

Berdeina was born November 27, 1937 in South Muddy Township, Jasper County, Illinois, daughter of Earnest L. and Juanita L. Gorrell Sparks. She married Jacob Harrison Cox on January 9, 1955. Berdeina was a member of Open Heart Baptist Church of Columbia, MO. She was a pastor’s wife for over 50 years until her husband proceeded her in death on April 4, 2016. She enjoyed her flower gardens with the birds and squirrels that frequently visited the yard. Berdeina loved her family and enjoyed sharing little Danish cookies with her great-grandchildren. She was blessed to live long enough to see her family grow into 5 generations, consisting of 4 children, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Surviving are four children: Debra Thomas (Mark) of Kansas City, MO, Amy Easley (Bob) of Fulton, MO, Laura Roberson (James) of Fulton, MO, Jill Canfield (George) of Republic, MO; one brother: L. Keith Sparks (Pat) of Charleston; thirteen grandchildren, Kimberly Anderson, Eric Anderson, Chad Greenburg, Lerose Morales, Matt Flowers, Micah Flowers, Lance Flowers, Brandon Flowers, April Masterson, Anthony Roberson, Amanda Wilmsmeyer, Caitlin Birge and Jacob Canfield; along with fifteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Berdeina was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; her parents, Earnest and Juanita; and one great-grandson, Caleb Easley.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton, MO. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
