Hi My Dear Friend, Mary- Today I said Goodbye to you. I will miss your special phone calls and all our one to one talks. You invited me to play Bingo on Friday nights about a year after my Hubby Dell, had passed away, I do believe you though I needed that "therapy" and I did. Being members on the Tuesday and Thursday Bowling, I think brought us closer together, we were similar in some ways since two of your daughters were the same names as my two daughters (Pat and Sharon) was a "coincidence". You were a dear person and you invited me to some of your family affairs, and Boy, what a family, they are precious. I must say, you were a very thorough Secretary, but did not like the deligate any of your work. Before I close I am reminded about our trips, of which we were going again the end of April to Las Vegas, and I am smiling just thinking about that one morning, Ellen came down to breakfast and said that Mary could not find her teeth--whoops--Ellen went back up to the room again and found them somewhere near the head of the bed. Oh Mary, I just don't know about you. And that is the reason You Were One Of A Kind and Really Loved. Dear Mary, I am having the last word-you will be remembered and I will Love our Friendship Always. As one of your family said today, "You are in God's Hands". Bye!

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Mary. The thing I remember most about her was her sense of humor and how she always tried to be such a good friend to my mom even when my mom turned away when she was suffering from depression over the years. Mary always called her and tried to keep her involved in the church, the community, and of course always playing bingo. Mary wanted to come pick mom up so she would be a part of anything and everything Mary was involved in too. She was a great friend to my mom. I know she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many people. She will be missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with the O'Keefe family during this difficult time. We know that Mary is up in heaven now probably organizing a game of bingo!!

My grandma was a very special person in my life. For as long as I can remember, we talked on the phone every Sunday. The only time I didnt get a call was when she was on her way to Laughlin or Vegas for a bowling tournament. :)I dont even remember how it started, but it turned into part of our daily routine every Sunday. Our conversations usually centered on college football and the weather (especially when I lived on the East Coast), but as I got older, they focused on my daughter and husband whom she adored. I could list hundreds of memories (e.g., french toast and fried donuts for breakfast before school, competitive card games, learning to bowl at Carter, her trip to visit me in college, and my wedding), but our weekly phone calls will always be close to my heart. She was the best grandma I could have asked for, and I will truly miss her.

I have been praying the rosary daily for Mary since Saturday. I get goose bumps everytime as if she knows I am praying for her soul. When I found out she had left us I realized she indeed knows that I am and will continue to pray for her soul and strenght for her family.We will all miss her.Love her bingo buddy and sister in Christ.Cheryl
