Mary Lucille Aquino passed away with her family by her side on June 3, 2018 in Anaheim, California at the age of 87. Mary was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 22, 1930 along with her older, by 20 minutes, twin sister Margaret. She grew up in Mary Ridge, Missouri and eventually followed her siblings out to California where in 1958 she met a young Marine, Wen Aquino, from Kauai, HI and became a military wife, PTA mom, and bookkeeper/office manager. After retiring in the early nineties, Mary became an avid bowler in a senior league until 2015. During this time, she was also a dedicated shopper with a generous heart and spoiled her grandchildren without avail. Mary was a very open loving person; anyone and everyone that came to her house were instantly welcomed into the family, whether it was for a day or decades. Not one person was without a present at Christmas, as it was her mission to make everyone feel they belonged and accepted. Preceded in death by her twin sister, Margaret Slavin, and brother, Robert L. Wheeler Jr., "Bobby", Mary is survived by her husband of 59 ½ years, Wenceslao "Wen" Aquino, daughter, Susan Karchefski, her "precious angels" grandchildren, Amanda, Kaitlin and Matthew, puppy LuLu, and younger sister and shopping partner, Martha Lay. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 23, 2018 at 11am at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, 902 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA 92832.
