Inez Schluter, a long-time resident of Peralta Hills in Anaheim, passed away on September 26, 2020, after a short illness. She was born Inez Winnifred Engvall in 1923, in Tacoma, Washington, grew up there and in Seattle, and moved to the Los Angeles area after graduating from University of Washington in 1944 with a degree in Chemistry. She worked as a chemist for Union Oil for 10 years.
She married Eugene Schluter in 1954 and they were married for 59 years, raising five children, first in Whittier and then in Anaheim. She was also active in her neighborhood and community in various ways, and enjoyed being a mother and grandmother very much. She was fiercely independent, humble, and most of all devoted to her family.
She will be remembered by her children Gene Schluter, Bill Schluter, Anne Sexton (Ron), Mark Schluter (Julie), Valerie Waterson; grandchildren Alyssa, Erik, Scarlett, Gabrielle, Catherine, and Samuel, and friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene. We will all miss her so much.
The graveside service will take place on Saturday, 10/3/20, 1:00 pm at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange, California, followed by a reception.
Donations may be made to San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills.
