Elsie Sharp was born March 14, 1929 to Joseph and Mary Mello. Her parents left the island of Sao Miguel, Portugal in 1909 and settled in East Providence, Rhode Island, but passed away by the time she turned 12. Elsie was one of five siblings: Manual, Margaret, Arthur, Elsie and Raymond. She did not finish high school because she was helping out at home and began working at the Telephone Company. She met Edward "Bud" Sharp in 1947 and they married in December of that year. They had three daughters: Melody (1948), Patricia (1957), and Rebecca (1963).
The family moved to California in 1954. Bud passed away in 1975 but Elsie remained in their home in Anaheim for 48 years. She was a homemaker until losing Bud and then began working at Broadway/Macys where she remained for 20 years. She relocated to Brea from 2003-2019 and then moved in with Patsy. She spent her final year in Memory Care and passed away on September 12, 2023. Elsie loved See's Candy, shopping trips, going out to lunch, and is survived by her three daughters, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
