Sharon Lynn was a loving, caring, and a giving mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. She turned 80-years-old on March 5, 2022. Sharon was born on March 5, 1942 to proud parents, Harold William Woeber Jr. and Rhoda Mildred Johnson Woeber.
Sharon graduated in 1960 from Fort Collins High School. To assist her moving up in the company from secretary to first woman lineman inspector for Western Area Power Administration, she attended Front Range Community College for her Associate's Degree. She covered Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska power sub-stations and rode in a helicopter to inspect power lines and sub-stations wearing a hard hat and steel-toed boots. Sharon retired in 1983.
Sharon's greatest joy in life was her family. She married Larry D. Brokaw October 1960 and together had three children: Michelle Jeanné Brokaw, Scott Donn Brokaw, and Susie Danielle Brokaw Clausen. They have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren together. Sharon became a Christian, and as her faith grew, Larry, too, became a Christian. Together they had bible studies in their home and sponsored missionaries in Mexico; their church family was an important part of their lives. They divorced in 1982.
Her favorite hobby was swimming and she was a lifeguard in high school. She also enjoyed water skiing, fly-fishing, cross-country skiing, attending to her flower beds, being a part of a hot air balloon team, and of course, watching a good game of the Broncos playing football.
Sharon married Larry F. Thomas on August 8, 1982. The family grew with Larry’s children, Larry Thomas III, Valerie Thomas Prince, Daniel Thomas, and Jim Thomas, and with six grandchildren Jeremy, Nathan, Sarah, Trent, Amy, Christopher. Larry and Sharon met at work and enjoyed similar hobbies together: traveling, camping, fishing, and attended Bronco games at Mile High Stadium. Larry passed away due to cancer on July 5, 2011.
Sharon and Keith Anderson met at Sunflower Community and became great friends traveling, riding bikes, watching football games, and soon married on September 25, 2016. Sharon’s family grew once again with Keith’s sons David and Paulie and two granddaughters Cleo and Mo. They shared six years of marriage. Sharon’s health began to decline with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis which causes every breath to be an effort and she was on oxygen full-time. Keith became her full-time caregiver and we are so grateful for all the love and care he showed our mom over the years. August 3, 2022, Sharon took a bad fall and broke her left femur and was unable to regain the strength in her legs to be able to walk or stand on her own. After time in rehab, she went to live at a long-term care facility where she passed away on Christmas morning.
Mom, you will truly be missed by each and everyone who has been a part of your world over the years. You are one amazing person who we all look up to and love so much.
I love you, Mom, so so much and those were your last words to me on our last time together.
Mom, your Heavenly Father awaits you with open arms. Your mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and four great-grandchildren are all waiting for you and your eternal life in perfect health, joy, and harmony.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Keith; two brothers, Don Woeber (with wife, Celia, and three sons, Jeff, Kurt, and Josh) and Jim Woeber (with three children, Teena, Lisa, and James); and her sister, Carol Berry (with two sons, Topher and Adam). She is also survived by her three children: Michelle Jeanné Brokaw, Scott Donn Brokaw, and Susie Daniele Brokaw Clausen. Michelle has three children: Tyler Miller, Tawnya Miller, and Travis Brokaw. Scott and husband Johnny Bridge have two children: Erica Bridge O’Quinn and Trent Bridge. Erica is married to Phillip O’Quinn and they have a daughter, Mattie Leigh. Susie is married to Jerry Clausen and they have two children: Brooke Clausen Bakes and Cody Clausen. Brooke and husband Ryley Bakes have two children: Braxton and Brynnley. Cody and his wife, Ali Clausen, have one daughter, Isabelle.
Sharon Lynn’s Celebration of Life was held at Sunflower Adult Community Clubhouse at 865 Pleasure Drive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524, on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
