Robert “Bob” John Still, age 72 of Eaton, CO (formerly San Tan Valley, AZ) passed away on January 2nd, 2019 in Eaton, CO due to complications from diabetes. Bob was born to Norman Joseph and Wilma (Boss) Still on July 10, 1946 in Chicago, IL. He attended Oak Lawn Community High School and was a 1964 graduate. He began his career at a Chevrolet dealership in the Service Department. In 1969 he moved from IL to Long Beach, CA and was hired by GM Chevrolet Motor Division as an Area Service Manager for the West coast. After many years he moved over to the sales side of the business as District Sales Manager. After 35 years with Chevrolet Bob retired in April 2005.
Bob’s passion was motorcycles, specifically long-distance riding. He completed many rallies and long-distance events over 50 years of riding. His greatest achievement was completing the 2005 Iron Butt Rally, which covered 11,000 miles in 11 days! He was recognized by BMW for riding in excess of 500,000 miles on BMW motorcycles.
His other passion was dogs, specifically Labrador Retrievers. He volunteered for many years at the Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue in Phoenix fostering and helping with adoptions.
Bob is survived by his sister Sharon (Charles) Woodward, brothers Ronald (Karen) Still, Roger (Bobbi) Still, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as three great-nieces.
