Robert Leroy (Bob) Dody passed away July 10, 2018 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born to Archie Boyd and Helen Wilma (Loveless) Dody on his father’s birthday May 19, 1927 at their home in Marion County, Kansas.
On Thanksgiving Day 1945 he met the love of his life, Dorothy May Bailey. They were united in marriage August 24, 1946 in Syracuse, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jim Dody, Dorothy Yost, Rosemary Garrard and three infant sisters, Etta, Betty and Lillian. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his son Bill and wife Becky of Severance, daughter Becky Comfort of Issaquah, Washington, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his siblings Don Dody of Newton, KS; Jean Swanson of Newton, KS; Susie Bernhardt of McPherson, KS; and Keith Dody of Newton, KS.
After their marriage Bob and Dorothy farmed near Manter, Kansas until their retirement in 1990, when they moved to Fort Collins. They spent many years travelling all over the United States and the world in their RV, and made many good friends along the way. Bob enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and was their number one fan.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the compassionate, caring staff at the Intensive Care Unit, Poudre Valley Hospital who cared for Bob during his final days.
Services will be 2:00 Monday July 16 at Discovery Fellowship Church, Fort Collins., with Pastor Rick Vannoy officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Fort Collins.
