She had one sister and four brothers. Margaret was the youngest and was extremely close to her brother Eldon. She was born in Kanab, Utah on the fourth of July 1926. Her father Robert told her that the 4th of July was a celebration of her life.
She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was there that she met her eternal companion and started a family. Over a ten-year period she had two boys and two girls while working as a cashier for Safeway.
The family then moved to Kansas City, Missouri. While there she worked at Riverside Red X as a cashier. After a lengthy hiatus from having children, she had two more girls.
After almost fifteen years in Kansas City, the family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. This was home for the remainder of Margaret’s life. Until her retirement, Margaret worked as a cashier for Safeway.
Margaret was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked in the Denver temple and the Fort Collins temple. In addition, she taught Primary for over forty years.
Margaret was an avid Bronco fan; a lover of all things Mickey Mouse; and a diehard supporter of CSU basketball.
Most of all, Margaret loved people. Her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren gave meaning to her life and helped her continue on life’s journey after the death of her husband. There was never a person Margaret did not like. Her friends became her family, and she loved each and every one of them. One of the joys of her life was going to lunch with her friends.
While we are all sad at her passing, we are content in the knowledge that she is with her husband. He has waited for her for a very long time and they can now be together forever.
Margaret is survived by her six children – William; Kathe and her late husband JR; Susie and her husband Roger; Jay and his wife Kim; Jan and her husband Mike; and Julie and her husband Curt. In addition to her 21 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren.
