Margaret Ann Rasmussen

Margaret “Margie” Ann Rasmussen of Timnath passed away on May 27, 2015 in Fort Collins. She was born November 17, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Mehrle Nelson. She attended school in Chicago, IL and received a Certificate of Completion from the Moody Bible Institute of Theology.

Margie met and married Gary Dean Rasmussen in Chicago where Gary was stationed at Ft. Sheridan. They had been married for 59 years and together they raised 4 children, Lee Ann Moll Birgenheier, Karen Sue Rasmussen Bigg, Gregg David Rasmussen and Gerry Alice Rasmussen Losino.

Margie, along with Gary, were in many businesses together, the latest of which was developing and selling volumetric cement mixers for their company, Margar Industries. She and Gary both loved living in Colorado because of its great views of the mountains.

Unlike Gary, Margie did not like to fly but felt safe flying with Gary, who was licensed to fly anything from small fixed wing to jet aircraft, and helicopters, as well. She volunteered with 4H. She was a very organized, hard working woman who will be greatly missed.

Her daughters Gerry and Karen have passed and, along with their dad, are waiting for their mom with open arms in Heaven. We love you Margie!

Along with Gary and her daughters, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Craig Moll; brother, Dan Nelson; brother-in-law Don Rasmussen; sister-in-law, Mary Rasmussen; and a grandson, Ryan Thompson. She is survived by a son, Gregg David Rasmussen of Lamar; daughter, Lee Ann Moll Birgenheier and husband Ron Birgenheier of Sterling; grandchildren, Bryan Moll of Washington, DC, Jessie, Josh, and Shalimar, Chad, Chance and Jett Birgenheier; and special friend, Tina Dominquez.

Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Sunday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 11 am Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens.
