

She was born on the family homestead in Brandon, Colorado, a small town near Lamar, Colorado, on September 7th, 1940. Lila was one of six daughters born to Lester and Testa Wright. She and her sisters grew up on a farm, learning the values of hard work, family, and faith.
Lila had a great variety of jobs over her lifetime, including truck driving, administration, and working for herself as a seamstress. She was the best mother in the world, never failing to do whatever was needed to support her children. Lila furiously protective of her family. She was strict but fun. She always wanted the chores done but was also always ready for a lighthearted good time.
She loved dancing, playing bingo, the lottery. She also enjoyed puzzle books and sudoku. She had a great sense of humor and making people laugh. She loved telling stories of her growing up years. She loved kids and she loved family and family reunions.
Lila is survived by her children Theresa Carpenter, Rose Carpenter, Robert Carpenter, Ike Edmonds (Sherry), Gerald Jackson (Ronda), Shonna Ahrenholtz, and Linda Jackson; her sisters Vanita Hawkins, Twila Jordan, June Hartman (George Hartman), and Lola Wright; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; as well as 17 nieces and nephews.
She is greeted in Heaven by her father Lester Wright, mother Testa Wright, sister Juanita Haskell (Kenneth Haskell), her youngest son Duane Jackson, and by six nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at ReImagine Life Ministry in Fort Collins on Friday, April 4th, 2025 at 1:30pm. Treasured memories of Lila and words of condolence for her family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
