Our dear Jamie Montemarano passed out of our lives on December 15, 2024. He was born James Montemarano, the son of Robert Montemarano, Sr. and Bernadette Teixeira Montemarano, on July 18, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York.
Jamie is survived by his mother, Bernadette Montemarano, and his brother, Robert Gerard Montemarano, Jr. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Montemarano, Sr.; his brother, Nicholas L. Montemarano; and by his grandparents, Bernice & Lionel Teixeira and Gladys & Joe Montemarano.
Jamie was a New Yorker through and through, with his New York accent, charm, dark-complected Italian good looks, and a broad smile that warmed hearts and lit up a room with his presence. He had a passion for Colorado, but mostly for the friendships he developed while residing in Fort Collins as a child and returning to live several times later as an adult. Friendship held deep meaning for Jamie; he nurtured each relationship as a precious gift. His greetings weren’t just ordinary hugs; they were accompanied by a huge smile and an encompassing embrace that conveyed your importance to him.
His love for his mother, two brothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and two nieces, Danielle and Ava, epitomized his big Italian family. He was proud of his heritage and often worked in his family’s businesses in New York.
Jamie wove in and out of life in NYC and Fort Collins, bound by the deep friendships he formed here and his love for family there. Jamie returned to Northern Colorado in 2019 to work alongside his childhood best friend, tackling an endeavor they made extremely successful together. Many, if not all, of the hundreds of employees who worked with Jamie not only loved him but considered him family. He relentlessly ensured their needs were always met, often before his own.
Jamie left us so unexpectedly and far too soon. There will be no one to replace our guy from Brooklyn, who passed in and out of all our lives with unwavering passion, loyalty, and love. Jamie will be taking his last flight back home to Brooklyn, NY, returning to his Italian roots for a final farewell.
Soar with the angels, our precious friend. May you rest in peace; you are irreplaceable and will be forever loved and missed.
A Visitation will be held for Jamie's Colorado family & friends at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins on Thursday, December 19th from 4pm - 7pm. Services in New York will be in care of Albrecht, Bruno & O’Shea Funeral Home. Details are forthcoming.
Should you wish to send flowers, please send them to Jamie's New York service so his mother may appreciate them. Information will be provided once services are confirmed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in to support Jamie's family during this time.
