Rieck moved to Ft. Collins in the early 70s and was known to many downtown merchants and rural residents as their UPS guy. He loved his Rist Canyon and Poudre Canyon delivery routes as much as he did the pies at the old Rustic Resort.
After driving, Rick spent most of his professional career in retail, working at the Fashion Bar in the Foothills Mall and later at Men’s Wearhouse.
A deeply spiritual man, Rieck was an advanced practitioner of Eckankar and generously shared his wisdom and compassion. His deep friendships spanned many years and in some cases endured over many miles as well.
Originally from Michigan, he graduated from Dearborn High School and also attended Henry Ford Community College. He later worked at both Chrysler and at Bendix Corp.
Rieck was predeceased by his sister Linda and his nephew Curtiss Crosbie. He survived by his brother Daryl of Arlington, Washington, his sister Marilyn of Broomfield, Colorado and by his niece Kari and her two children of Renton, Washington.
At Rieck’s specific request, no service is planned.
