Cathy Renee Markley

Cathy was born March 19, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas, to Wally and Lori Noel. On November 11, 1989, Cathy married the love of her life, Doug Markley. Cathy was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

For the past 26 years, Cathy and Doug chased the green grass by splitting their time throughout the year between CO and Palm Desert, CA. Cathy had a passion for playing golf and watching tennis. One of her favorite events of the year was the Indian Wells tennis tournament which she enjoyed in person many times. She enjoyed playing golf until her back no longer allowed, so she took up the game of Mahjong, which she enjoyed playing with close friends regularly. She and Doug loved to travel and explore the world together. They visited Monte Carlo, France, Italy, Spain, Cancun, Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas, and Maui. Each trip brought many amazing memories that Doug and his family will cherish forever. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, and as it grew, Cathy’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved fiercely and always put her family first.

Cathy was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Moore. Survivors include her husband, Doug Markley, her mother, Lori Noel and father, Wally Noel, her son, Justin Markley, stepdaughters, Cindy DeGroot (Gregg), Carrie Baumgart (Eric), grand-children, Ashlee Giro (Jackson), Tyler DeGroot, Hunter Baumgart, Lily Markley, and Austin Markley, and great-grandchildren, Rori Giro and Cameron Giro. She is also survived by her sister, Sandy Winter, and her brothers, Larry Noel and Mike Noel.

Cathy will be missed tremendously by all.

Funeral services will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2000 Stover Street, Fort Collins, at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
