She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1988, also from Arkansas State University. Margaret had a career in education and touched the lives of innumerable children teaching many subjects including English, Mathematics and the Bible to name a few. Her career as an educator began in the Arkansas school system. Margaret retired in 2011, but was still an active substitute teacher for Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco up until her passing. In lieu of flowers, we would encourage you to send a donation to the Margaret McHaney Memorial Scholarship Fund. Her family believe this would honor Margaret’s legacy in education. The annual scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior each year, from Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco, TX, who plans to pursue a career in education. Margaret loved Legacy Christian Academy where she substituted for the past several years. Checks may be mailed to 13741, Whistler Dr. Frisco, TX 75035.
