Tisser was born on December 13, 1941, in McKinney, Texas to Boyd Elkin Mays and Lucille Cornelia Mays. She graduated from Frisco High School in 1960. She married Clifford “Pete” Owen Clark in 1962 and together they had 2 children, Granville and Geri.
After high school she worked for State Farm Insurance before becoming a homemaker. After raising her children, she began her career as a “lampist” with The Royal Touch Lamp and Lighting store in Richardson, Texas. Her creativity showed brightly as she could make lamps out of most anything anyone asked of her. In 1997, Tisser retired from the lamp industry to become a full-time grandmother. Throughout Tisser’s life she loved eating out, the beach, building homecoming floats, all family holidays, being with family and friends, and supporting her grandchildren by attending their school and sports activities. She had the biggest heart and was always wanting to give to others.
Tisser was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Lucille Mays, three sisters, Imogene Mays, Geraldine Byrum (Kenny), Pokey Redmon (Gene) and husband Pete Clark. She is survived by her brother George Elkin Mays (Linda), son Granville Dane Clark (Cody), daughter Geri Jean Zanetell (Scott), granddaughter Kayce Lyn Bennett (Jacob), grandson Grant Thomas Zanetell, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas. Family will be receiving guests at 11:00am with Words of Remembrance starting at 12pm. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Prairie Estates and Elysian Hospice who showed such genuine concern for Tisser’s comfort and well-being during her time there.
