OMG 😆 I COULD (never) strike Daryl out when we played baseball game called “STRIKE OUT”. Him and I were probably the best baseball players on PARMALY As little boys in the 70’s. FUNNY thing now is here we are in the year (2022) and little black Boys rarely play that game of baseball anymore (football baseball). Yet I would bet anything “IF Daryl and I had raised a son(maybe he did)? They would (both) be playing BASEBALL. I LOVE YOU DARYL the BEST BASEBALL ⚾️ PLAYER IVE EVER KNOWN as a real FRIEND! Daryl was much admired by his younger cousins.  He was a good athlete, excellent student and among the first in our family to graduate college. I wanted to be just like him!!! His parents proudly related his life achievements. It revealed the fine person and excellent family man he became.

I met Daryl and Vera when Brandon and my son were four years old and Daryl coached their soccer team.  Even with all their moves we stayed very good friends.  After my husband passed during the boys senior year I spent a lot of time during the summer staying with them.  Daryl began referring to me as his “summer wife”.  I have so many fond memories of the laughs and fun times we enjoyed.  It love him and Vera so much and he will forever be in my heart.

We have been blessed to have you in our lives. We are heartbroken for your family. Sending prayers, hugs, and love on this day of celebration!

I remember the day I met this man and how much love he had for his wife ,family, and life. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. RIP sweet Daryl.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you today as you say goodbye to Daryl.  He lived "large" and was such a gentle spirit.  We will miss him.  We love you guys.  

I remember seeing you at Alec’s wedding like it was yesterday. I was so thrilled it meant enough for you to come all the way from TX!  Daryl was Alec’s mentor so to speak. He influenced his appreciation for sports and his future endeavors. And Vera, my friend, you’ve always been special to me.

I am sorry to hear of Daryl’s passing. I’ll always remember him being at our little league baseball and basketball games with his larger than life personality. I hope the family can find peace in this hard time and know how far Daryl’s reach really was.

I remember when I first started working at Mr. Cooper 4 years ago, I noticed Daryl as he walked through the building with so much swag and confidence that all I could do was smile.

Then later I had the opportunity to walk into Daryl's office and tell him "Thank You" for his sponsorship as my SVP to be an active member of Toastmasters International after which, later I became an Area Director that I couldnt wait to tell him the good news! The look on his face of my initial visit in his office was "PRICELESS" when I told him thank you, as he was surprised for me to appreciate him and say Thank You.

Daryl was truly an amazing man and wonderful leader! One whom I will never forget as his humility made all the difference. My thoughts and prayers are towards his wife, children, grandchildren family and friends. May the LORD continue to bless, comfort and strengthen you all during this time as your memories bring joy to your hearts in spite of the tears.
