“Bob” as everyone called him was raised on a vineyard near Biola, attended local schools including Central High School where he meet the love of his Life Roberta Gammel, the pretty neighbor just down the street. Shortly after their marriage Bob joined the Army and they moved to San Francisco as he was stationed at the Presedio. This was a time of great joy for Bob and Roberta as they explored the big and beautiful city. Dad loved to regale the family with stories of all the famous people he met and the night clubs he played his beloved trumpet in. He was also in charge of all the military funerals there during the Korean conflict while there
After the military they moved back to Fresno where he was a home delivery milkman (for those of you who remember that used to be a job before the advent of Amazon) and had 2 sons Kevin and Mark. Bob eventually came back to the farm and also sold ag real estate. Real estate was the perfect job for Bob as he could go to coffee and visit with all the other farmers to see who was interested in buying or selling a ranch.
Bob was preceded in his death by his wife Roberta, his son Mark and his grandson Chris. He is survived by his son Kevin and his wife Diane, daughter in law Martha and her husband Dean, 5 grandchildren ( Jason, Brittany, Morgan, Erik and Lindsey ) and 4 great grandchildren (Chloe, Emily, Abby and McKenzie). Viewing will be on Monday October 17th from 4:00 to 7:00 at Stephen’s and Bean in Fresno and a Celebration of life will be held at the Biola Congregational Church on Tuesday October 18th at 11:00 with a lunch reception to follow. If you want to send flowers then please send them to Stephen’s and Bean or in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Biola Congregational Church, P.O.
