Pacita Deleon Garcia

Pacita is survived by her husband, Manolo Garcia, children and their spouses: Jennifer and Fadrique Tarazon, Eileen and Michael Sharp, and Wayne Garcia. She leaves behind four grandchildren: Matthew Tarazon (spouse, Christie), Nathaniel Tarazon (spouse, Nikole), Thomas Tarazon, and Rebekah Tarazon. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Maxwell Tarazon, Eliana Tarazon, McKenzie Tarazon.

Pacita was born in Muzon, Malabon in the Philippines on May 28, 1931 to Pedro deLeon and Apolonia San Pedro. She survived three sisters and two brothers. She graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila. On August 17, 1967 she graduated with a BS in Home Economics. She met the love of her life at a church function at the age of 27. They were penpals while Manolo was in the US Navy. He returned to the Philippines and proposed, and they were married on June 6, 1961. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this year.

Their first child, Jennifer, was born in March 1962. In 1963, Pacita and Jennifer met Manolo at Pearl Harbor. They moved to NAS Whiting Field in Milton, FL. Their second child, Eileen, was born in May 1964. In February 1966, their third child and only son, Wayne, was born. In November 1971, they made Fresno, CA their home. They became members at St. Luke’s and she passionately sang in the choir for many, many years. She worked at Royal Coach Sprinkler as an assembler for six years. Then in 1978, she went back to Fresno State for her teaching credential. Afterwards, she taught preschool at MLK for 15 years.  She retired and remained active at Fresno Christian Fellowship. She enjoyed singing, traveling, and watching her family legacy grow with grandkids and great-grandkids. Pacita will be remembered for her unwavering faith and her love for her husband, family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Lisle Funeral Home from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Funeral Service at Lisle Funeral Home on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at the Belmont Memorial Park.
