Brother not a day goes by and i miss your funny jokes and stories, i am glad it got to hang out with you at our last Raider Game, and also when i was on leave from the Navy with Mom and Dad.  Love you see you in Heaven.

We have so many special memories from our many years of friendship with your beautiful family!  Moments mattered to Miguel, and we always appreciated how he would take time to reflect on those shared experiences in beautiful emails.  He shared in the joy of the successes of not only Justin and Jacob, but of all of our kiddos!! He would take time to take video during the water polo and flag football games and then make sure he sent them to each of us, with enthusiastic announcing of what was occurring.  He will truly be missed!! 
Suzy, Justin and Jacob, we are here for you always!! We have lots of milestones to look forward to and share together! We will  be there for the big moments, the little moments and everything in between!  We love you!!! 💕😘

All our love and condolences from Miguel’s Australian family, some of us were lucky enough to meet him or talk to him on the phone others had Facebook fun with him.  We followed each other’s  family events keeping up to date across the vast ocean.  Will miss his funny comments, Rest In Peace dear cousin love Julie, Al, Phillip, Sheree, Alvaro and their families.  Love to Suzy, Jacob, Justin and Henrique. 

My deepest condolences to Suzy, Justin and Jacob.  Miguel and I go way back.  His father and mine went to the same school in Shanghai.   They were both dear friends of my parents.  At the age of 11 I baby sat both boys.  Miguel will constantly be in my prayers and his family as well so that they will be given the strength needed at this very difficult time.  God Bless!

I know you are sadly missed by so many but the lord had an unexpected turn on your path. 
Rest In Peace my friend, I hope you are forever announcing a close & exciting SJM water polo game up in the sky.  

I met Miguel when I was a young child.  There was a group of older boys who terrorized me brutally then, but he was the only one from the group who opposed the peer pressure and didn't partake in it.  Instead, Miguel de Sousa offered me kindness.  I am sure that his example of decency and goodness was as powerful, ultimately, for the others, as it was for me.
To be clear, he has ALWAYS been kind and gentle toward me.  I will never, ever forget him for that.  
I am also forever grateful that I was able to share this directly with him, just a few years ago as an adult.  I really wanted him to know how precious and impactful he was to me.
My heart feels broken at the loss of Miguel.  
I am sure though that he has been welcomed in the best way as a dear and beloved kindred by those who've already passed.  I have no doubt about this.
To the de Sousa family and friends, my words fail, and I'm sorry for that.  But the feelings are sincere and strong.  There is solidarity here.  He has touched many of us.

Thinking of Miguel makes me smile.   He was so proud of his family. Michael Golden and I enjoyed seeing him DJ the water polo games where'd he'd light up as he played music to entertain the spectators.   He called me his 'soul-sister' because of our love of all the same music,  our favorite Beatle, George Harrison, movies, and of course, our Raiders.   My heart is broken, Miguel.  I'll miss your smile.

Dear Suzy, Justin, and Jacob and all members of Miguel's family and extended family I have never witnessed such an outpouring of love as I saw during the days that Miguel was at St. Agnes. You all touched our lives. Please know I am here if ever I can do anything for you during this time. My love and prayers remain with you daily Sister Emily, C.S.C. 

My deepest condolences on the loss of Miguel.  I will miss his friendly spirit—especially the parking lot banter.   He always had something funny to say.   May he rest in the peace of Christ.
