Marjorie was born June 23, 1921, to Henry and Katherine Schafer, Vogel German Immigrants.
Marjorie grew up in what was once known as "German Town" in west Fresno where she met Fred Gross whom she was married to for 43 years.
Marjorie was a graduate of Fresno Technical High School in 1939 where she was the class valedictorian. Marjorie worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles and retired in 1980.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Fred, sisters Bertha Scheidt and Henrietta Pierson, brother John Schafer, and her companion of the past 14 years, Charles Pollack.
Marjorie is survived by her son Steve Gross, daughter Sharon Hunsaker and her husband Jim, two grandchildren Julie Hatch and her husband Rick, Lorrie Hunsaker, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and her devoted pet Bella-Katherine.
Marjorie was past president of the Edison Social Club Auxillary where she was the oldest member. She was also a member of the VFW 509 Ladies Auxillary, a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge and a social member of the I.D.E.S.
Marjorie's outgoing smile and spirit for family and dear friends will be truly missed.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 P.M. at Stephens and Bean Chapel.
Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
