She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Smith; her children Ethan (Debby) and David (Alison) Smith; her grandchildren Miles, Greyson, Levi, and Amelia Smith; and by her brother Bruce (Wendy) Leanse.
She was born in Los Angeles, California to Arnold and Sylvia Leanse.
Linda attended University High School in Los Angeles, and studied at University of Southern California where she double-majored in Social Sciences and Ethnic Studies, with a minor in English Literature.
She enjoyed a 40+ year career in Education. Linda's commitment to teaching and helping others led her to substitute teach long after her retirement, and to volunteer and advocate at any opportunity.
Linda was a passionate firecracker who loved to laugh. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family, reading and being involved in the community. She was a tireless proponent of Women's Rights and was not reticent to stand up for civil rights when situations demanded it. She was an interested, giving and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and teacher who will be dearly and heartfully missed. She gave lots of love and was loved big, full much.
