He was a butcher for 35 years, enjoyed golf, sports, weekend trips to the coast and spending time with family. Joseph was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gordon Howell; his sister, Francis King; his daughter, Susan Howel; and his son, Joseph Howell Jr.
He is survived by Theresa Howell, his wife of 61 years; his son, Tim Howell; his granddaughter, Kimberly Means and her husband Rob; his great-granddaughters, Jillian and Emerson Means.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
