He was born in Fresno, CA, to Ramon and Josefa Sandoval on July 21, 1928.
Joe graduated from Clovis High School and Fresno State College.
At Fresno State he earned his Masters degree in social work, obtaining his LCSW license.
Joe was the Head of Social Services at Valley Medical Center.
He married the love of his life, Lucia Sandoval, in 1953.
He was a man of integrity, compassion and kindness.
He always put church and family first.
Joe was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he was a charter
member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6092.
Joe became Empress of the Americas in 1968, and fourth degree Sir Knight.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; and six siblings.
Joe is survived by his two children, Jessica Korsinen and her husband Steven of Fresno,
and Daniel Sandoval of El Cajon, CA; sisters, Mary, Irene,
Helen, Margaret, Diane, and Connie; and brother Delfino.
Vistation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday,
July 13, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to the Poverello House; or Catholic Charities.
