Janet Belli was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up and was raised in Walnut Creek. After graduating from High School in Walnut Creek, Janet went to Fresno State where she studied to become a registered nurse. At Fresno State she joined her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma and met her future husband, Dewey Belli. They went on to get married on July 16, 1964. After getting married and starting a family, she graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She then proceeded to become a home health nurse. They lived in Dos Palos and eventually went on to make their home in Firebaugh, California in 1972.
Janet and Dewey didn’t take long to start their family. They have 2 children, Ann and John. They were active parents, involved in the community, the church, and their schools. They never missed any school sporting events.
Janet was a devoted wife and a selfless stay at home mother with 2 children. She was an avid reader and a brilliant cook. She learned to cook all of Dewey’s favorite meals from her Italian Mother In Law and in turn nobody ever left their home hungry. As her and Dewey started their businesses she worked in the home to manage them. When she was 50 she took a job at the Health Clinic in town. While that started as a part time position, she ended up loving it so much that it lasted 10 years.
Janet spent a lot of time with her family and friends. As John entered college and played football her and Dewey never missed a game. Her love of travel led her to enjoy many trips with her sister Diane. She loved the beach and spent time in Capitola with family every summer for 25 years. Janet and Dewey made family a priority. She was a devoted Grandmother and never missed an occasion, near or far.
Janet is predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Florence Starn and her husband, Dewey Belli.
Janet is survived by her children; Ann Bates (Jim), John Belli (Dione). Her 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and her sister Diane (Pete).
In conclusion, Janet will be greatly missed.
