Edward Kenneth Fox Jr.

Edward “Butch” Kenneth Fox Jr. passed away October 6th, 2022 just shy of his 69th birthday in Madera, CA. He was born November 7th, 1953 in Reedley, CA. As a child, Ed lived in Parlier, Reedley, and moved to Selma, CA with his family.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Edward Kenneth Fox Sr., mother, Neva Gene Fox, and sister Mary Fox.

Ed is survived by his wife, Alison Elaine Fox, aunt Corena Blanchard, aunt Camilla Fox, sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Barry Brown, brother-in-law Michael Fox Sr., son and daughter-in-law James Bradford Fox and Loria Fox, daughter and son-in-law Tessa Lynn Krumpelman and Joseph Krumpelman, son and fiancé Christian Gerald Fox and Chelsea Sanchez, grandson Nathon Joseph Krumpelman, granddaughters Khloe Lynn Krumpelman, Neva Leona Fox, Ellerie Quinn Fox, Karlee Jean Krumpelman, and several nieces and nephews.

Ed attended Selma High School where he played in numerous sports. He was very proud to be a Selma Bear and was quick to share stories of his time there. He graduated from Selma High School in 1971. Shortly out of high school he married Kathy Lee Winters and started a family, who would travel around the valley before settling back in Selma, a block away from the home of his parents. He worked in various jobs with his father during this time including Chris Sorenson Packing and United Packing. He went on to work for Nash de Camp, Zacky Farms, Selma Convalescent Hospital, and Community Regional Medical Center as a stationary engineer, which he would dutifully perform until he retired in 2005.

Later, Ed met his wife Alison Fox in 2001 and moved to Fresno where he lived for several years before finally settling in Madera. Ed and Alison were married on October 12th, 2002 at Selma First Baptist Church.

He was a proud member of the local union where he served as a union shop steward for a time. Ed was also a member of the Selma Masonic Lodge and the Fresno Scottish Rite.

Family, fishing, and a rousing poker game were what brought Ed joy. Even having the opportunity to play in the World Series of Poker in 2016/17 in Las Vegas. He had a keen eye for a bad bluff and was able to sit with a smile on his face no matter the cards that were dealt to him.

Ed was a very charismatic person. He always had a story to tell or joke to make. He leaves behind a legacy of fierce loyalty and love for his family and friends, as well as a deep commitment to serving his cherished Central Valley community. He had an impact on many and will be missed by all who knew him.
