To the family of sweet De’Anna,
I am so sorry for your loss. De’Anna was a beautiful soul with a caring heart. She was my friend at St. Dominic’s Church in SF and in the service of helping others in need.  She was a great menu planner and had the best recipes for the shelter meal program. Always a smile on her face and would brighten any one’s day. Oh, and how she loved going to the Giants games with her father. I will miss her very much. May God comfort you during this time. Rest in eternal peace, my friend. 


Dear Castro Family,

De'Anna and I were former coworkers and our desks sat feet apart for quite awhile. 

While I was only a coworker, I can share how much she loved her family. How proud she was of her hometown. How often she made the trek from San Francisco to see you. How the joy in her eyes overflowed when sharing about her nieces and nephews. How she did not care about any other team than the Giants. How she was intelligent, clever, and witty - she loved to laugh. 

She loved you all with her whole being and carried that energy everywhere. 

De'Anna was unique with a generous spirit. She was kind and made space to by my friend. I hope you find peace in time and smile reflecting on all of the goodness that De'Anna made real. 

Deanna was a gem. Throughout my life, I have had the amazing luck of having people of immense quality and heart and  just out-of-this-world brilliance show up; providing me with a living example of how human beings can and should act when they are their best selves. Deanna was one of the best examples of goodness (and humor and compassion and smartness) I've met and I am so glad I got to know her for the (too) short time I did. My sincere condolences go out to her father and grandmother - I cannot imagine how hard it is to lose a daughter, especially in such an unforeseen way. God bless you all. I hold you in my thoughts and in my heart.

My heart aches at the loss of such a beautiful, talented, and bright soul. 

I had the pleasure to work with and learn from De'Anna. She was one of the kindest, most hard-working, and generous people I have met in my life. “Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same”. 

De'Anna will be dearly missed but forever in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to have known her even for a single moment.

May we meet again in heaven or another life, thank you for being my mentor and my friend, De'Anna.

Deanna was truly one of the kindest, generous, loving, inspiring and funniest people I have had the honor of knowing. She deeply enriched my life and I will miss her terribly.  My heartfelt condolences to the Castro family and all who mourn. May her memory be a blessing.

De'Anna was one of the kindest and selfless people I have known. She was most helpful to her co-workers and our clients and was loved by all of us. She was well trusted and respected and we knew she could come through anything challenging with her diligence and perseverance.

In all these years I have known her, I have never heard her complain or say anything bad for anyone. Her happiness was in helping people in need. Not only we lost an amazing team member, loving and warm colleague, we lost a noble soul. 

My heartfelt condolences to the Castro family and friends. No words can express my sadness for your loss. May god give you all the strength you need in this difficult hour. 

De'Anna will be greatly missed but we will cherish her great memories always!
