Born in Sparks, Kansas, Dean was the fourth of seven children born to Terrance William McIntyre and Ruby Jo Searles McIntyre. He lived in Kansas until he, and his wife Julia Dittemore McIntyre, relocated their family to Fresno where he resided for 55 years. Dean was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for more than 50 years.
Dean enlisted in the US Army in 1940, and served in the Pacific Theatre until 1945.
Dean McIntyre was a farmer, a businessman and owner, a trusted neighbor, an avid sports fan, and above all, a devoted family man.
Dean is survived by his sons, Terry Michael McIntyre of Henderson, Nevada, William Dean McIntyre, Jr. of Fresno and Michael Dean McIntyre of Clovis; and his daughter, Nancy Lynn McIntyre Seaver; sisters, Marilyn Ginther of Fresno, and Marjorie Judd of Troy, Kansas; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a loving extended family and friends.
