Darlene Butcher

Darlene was the youngest of three siblings, born to Thurman and Virginia Ferguson. She grew up in Hanford and graduated from Hanford High School in 1952. That summer, Darlene met the love of her life, Jean Butcher and they married in the spring of 1953. Soon after they married, the young couple moved to Sacramento and started their family. It wasn't long before they returned to Fresno where they raised three sons.

Darlene was a fabulous homemaker. She loved to cook, and opened her home for entertaining, especially during the holidays.

She particularly enjoyed tending to her yard and garden. Darlene had compassion and interest in others and made friends easily.

The family wishes to thank Jane Butcher for her genuine care and support these past few years.

Darlene is survived by her sons, Dana Butcher and his wife Chris, Doug Butcher, and Mark Butcher and his wife Jane; and her brother, Dale Ferguson and his wife Norma. She leaves behind seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at 6:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a private Interment.
