“Dan” Setencich passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17th. Dan was born, in Fresno CA, on December 21, 1930, to Obren & Annie Setencich. Dan lived his entire life in Fresno and loved the San Joaquin Valley and its agricultural way of life.
Dan was a farmer, and for many years, a cotton compress superintendent. He was most at peace when tending to the many duties of the family vineyard, which was located on Cornelia, between Belmont & Olive avenues. Dan graduated from Central High School, where he met life-long friends. He loved nothing more than being “Jedo” to his grandchildren & great-grandchildren and spending time with his family, friends, and dogs that were a very important part of his life. And his family, friends, and dogs truly loved spending time with him.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife Nadine and his sister Sally Radanovich. Dan is survived by his wife Teresa, brother Marko Sladovich (Kristi), daughter Anna Marie Rush (Dennis), son Brian Setencich (Jill), grandson Nick Rush (Keri), granddaughter Amee Rush, great-grandson Carson Rush, great-granddaughter Callie Rush, niece Kathy Ferguson (Tyce), nephew Philip Radanovich (Bonnie), as well as additional relatives. While Dan is so very missed, we can’t help but also celebrate his 93 great years and wonderful legacy of happiness, kindness and compassion.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 24th at 11:00 am. Services will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, located at 202 N. Teilman Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
