Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend to many.
He was born to Merle and Emily Crane on May 30, 1940 in Van Nuys, CA. After graduating from San
Fernando High School, he proudly served in the US Army from 1958 to 1962. After returning from the
Army, Chuck worked at Lockheed Martin before becoming a construction journeyman where his love
of woodworking began.
Chuck married his wife, Joyce, on August 8, 1964, in San Fernando, CA. They welcomed their daughter
Nancy on December 25, 1965 and their son, Richard on March 9, 1969.
The family moved to Fresno CA. in 1967 when he started working at Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He made
many friends while working at PPG and after his retirement got to see many of them every month when
they met for breakfast. After retiring in1995, he started a new adventure at Wishon Village RV Park, where he worked for 26 years for all 3 owners. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing, hunting and spending time in nature. This was the perfect place to spend his summers. He also looked forward to the annual hunting trip to Pagosa Springs Colorado, where he got to spend time with family and friends, including his son Richard, and recently with his grandsons, Justin and Dylan. His other hobbies included woodworking, tying flies for fly fishing, taking care of his beautiful yard, and watching almost all sports.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Emily Crane; brothers, Jack and Merle Crane.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; daughter, Nancy; son, Richard; grandsons, Justin and Dylan; sister Shirley Bruno; cousins Edward Hatch and Sally Rypka-Wyman; and 8 nieces and 5 nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 12:00 Noon at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel. His final resting place will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Nancy Hinds Hospice, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or your favorite charity.
