Alfred leaves behind his loving wife Norma C. Montez. He was born 6 years after the end of the second world war to Sara and Secundino Montez. Alfred grew up in Sunset, a neighborhood in the westside of Fresno. He was the youngest of his siblings. He is survived by many loving brothers, sisters and extended family.
He graduated from Edison High School in 1969. Alfred had many jobs after school but settled on working as a Gardener.
Alfred was a very active Member in the Spanish and Central Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fresno. His work with the Pathfinders Group, along with Master Guides Johnny and his wife Connie, gave hours of selflessness and dedication to the young people at his church who joined this life changing experience. Parents also played a part in the success of their beloved families.
He touched the lives of countless people by his testimony and love of God and Church. He also leaves behind a huge community of friends and family who will always love and remember him.
A visitation for Alfred will be held Monday, July 1, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, 202 North Teilman, Fresno, CA 937061310. A memorial service will occur Tuesday, July 2, 2024, beginning 10:00 AM at Fresno Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2980 E Yale Ave, Fresno, CA 93703. A committal service will occur immediately following at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
