Agnes passed away peacefully on Saturday February 12, 2011 at age 96 at home in Clovis. The youngest of three children, she was born on August 14, 1914 in Los Angeles. At a very young age, the family moved to Willowbrook, California where she resided until 1950.
Agnes graduated from Santa Barbara State College (UCSB) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in June 1937 and started her teaching career the next Fall in the Willowbrook School District where she had attended Elementary School.
Agnes married her beloved husband Don in 1950 and moved to Bellflower where they raised their son Michael and resided until 1986.
Agnes retired in 1977 after teaching elementary school for 40 years. In June 1986 Agnes and Don moved to Clovis to be closer to their only child, Michael. The retirement years were filled with time spent collecting antiques, shopping and going out to lunch with friends, doing many embroidery projects, and taking numerous trips throughout the United States with her husband Don.
Michael and Denise want to express their sincere gratitude to Cleo, Gloria, and the entire staff at Caring Heart Residential Living, Inc in Clovis, where Agnes resided since June 2009, for the outstanding care that was provided during her stay.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; and her loving husband of 55 years, Don, who passed away on November 8, 2006.
She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Denise; several nephews and nieces including Linda Davies and her husband Ron; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
