Nancy Marie (Dickman) Hartman, 63, of Woodville died Thursday morning with her sons and family members at her side. Nancy was born May 19, 1948 in Fremont to the late Bernard and Fannette (Gschwind) Dickman. She attended elementary school in Clyde and Green Springs. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Toledo in 1966. On May 8, 1981 she married Lowell C. Hartman and that union was blessed with two sons: Jon Lowell and Nicholas Louis.
Nancy worked at Union Carbide as an inspector from 1968-1983, and then the Whirlpool Corporation as an assembler from 1994-2008. When her sons were young, they were active in Cub and Boy Scouts and Nancy and Lowell were den parents for many years. Nancy was also a member and Past-President of Woodville Garden Club. She loved planting and landscaping in her garden, reading, and watching movies. One of her favorite garden stones read, “Gardeners know the best dirt.”
She is survived by her sons: Jon Lowell and Nicholas Louis of Woodville; sisters, Judy (Rick) Adams of Glendale, AZ, Linda(Lynn)Fifer of Woodstock, IL, Shirley(Mike) Haaser of Fremont, Mary Ann(Steve) Diekman of Hessville; brothers, Carl(Lana Miller)Dickman of Fostoria, Fred(Judy Varney)Dickman of Buckeye, AZ, Lamar(Mary Ann Faber) of Green Springs, Jerry(Jan Beier) of Fremont, Larry(Kim Campbell) of Fremont, sister-in-law, Ruth(Elmer)Hartman and many nieces and nephews, and close friends, Marilyn and Noralyn. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister-in-law, Laverne Hartman; nephews, Thomas Hartman, Gary Hartman.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 1-3PM & 6-9PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont. A Memorial Mass will take place 11:30AM Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd, Fremont, with a 1 hr. prior visitation at the church. A private burial service will occur at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
