Mr. Laisure was born June 24, 1932, at Bryant, Indiana, the son of James and Daisy (Glentzer) Laisure. They preceded him in death.
He married Bonnie Busche and she preceded him in death in 1966. He later married Barbara Colberg and she preceded him in death in 2002.
He was formerly of Hoagland, Indiana, and graduated from Hoagland High School 1950. He entered the United States Air Force, and served our country during the Korean War, serving from 1952 until 1956.
He retired as a manufacturing manager at Ingersol Rand Corporation. He had worked in Waterloo, and later retired from the Bryan, Ohio, operation.
Mr. Laisure had lived many years at Jimmerson Lake, and also lived in Phoenix, Arizona, prior to living in Fremont.
He enjoyed playing sports during his high school years and later played fast pitch softball for many years. His hobbies included golf, IU basketball, New York Yankees baseball, and spending time with family and friends over martinis.
He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Angola, and was a member of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257.
Surviving are two sons, Matthew Laisure of Jimmerson Lake, Fremont, Ind., and Lowell Laisure of Jimmerson Lake, Fremont, Ind.; two daughters: Kim Laisure of Lake James, Angola, Ind., and Laura Laisure of Fremont, Ind.; four grandchildren, Zachery Mitchell, Chelsea Chapin, Nickolas Keller and Michael “Mick” Laisure; and a sister, Betty Good of Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Bonnie (Busche) Laisure and Barbara (Colberg) Laisure; a son, Michael Laisure; and a grandson, Dustyn Laisure.
Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Ind. with Fremont American Legion Chaplain Mike Collins officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257.
Burial will be at a later date.
