Kim Nguyen (Nguyen Thi Kim Dung) was born on June 1st, 1964 in Tan An, Long An, Viet Nam. She was the youngest of 4 brothers and 4 sisters. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in French in Sai Gon, Viet Nam in 1986. She came to the United States in 2000 and had lived in San Jose ever since. She completed her LVN program at Unitek College in 2006. She worked for Comfort Hands Health Care in San Jose in the last years of her life and lived a simple life, surrounded by her loving family. She loved to spend time with her sons and her family, and loved to travel with her nieces and sisters. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Kim came from humble beginnings, working hard to bring her family from Viet Nam to the United States to give her sons better opportunities. She was always a joy to be around, bringing happiness wherever she went. She was a true ray of sunshine that brightened up everyone’s day. She was clever, witty, adventurous, down to earth, and had an enormous heart.
On July 7th, 2015 she lost her battle against HLH (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis). She was always surrounded by her loved ones, even up until the final moments of her passing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kim to the Matthew and Andrew foundation (http://www.matthewandandrew.org) for HLH research.
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US
In life we loved you dearly and in death we do the same
It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone
For part of us went with you the day god called you home
You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side
Our family is broken and nothing seems the same
But god calls us one by one and you are ahead of us
You find a new home for us and we will join you again in his time
Kim Puorro-Sister
To Kim-Dung,
We want to thank you for all of the love that you shared with us – We have so many wonderful memories with you. You guide us on how to show love in life, the courage to accept pain, to find power in darkness, and to never to give up the fight.
Our lives will never be the same without you and our love for you will never end
From all of us -
