Danny Lau passed away on Monday after a tough battle with cancer. Danny was a compassionate, thoughtful and caring man who touched many lives with his can-do outlook on life.

Danny was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to the US the summer of 1969. He graduated from Modesto High, then earned Computer Science and Math degrees from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo plus an MBA from Santa Clara University. Danny enjoyed his career with Hewlett Packard and Juniper Networks, as a senior leader in Process and Quality Engineering. He co-founded the Milpitas Community Chinese School, served as a Vice President of the Milpitas Unified School District Board of Education, was an active member in the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce and a lifetime member of Toastmasters. Danny enjoyed travel adventures around the world, photography, hiking, golf, bowling, and family gatherings.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Beatrice, and his devoted children Theresa, Yvonne, and Edmund. He is also survived by his brothers and their families, Johnnie Lau of Las Vegas, NV and Benny Lau of Escalon, CA; sisters and their families, Lai-Ying Stepan of Fremont, CA, Sylvia Leung of Fremont, CA, Kelly Rose of Monte Sereno, CA, and Grace Basista of Morgan Hill, CA, and a large extended family throughout California. Danny’s love of life and his commitment to his family and community will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends, family and colleagues are invited to a visitation on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 11am- 1pm, followed by the funeral service at 1pm at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA. Burial to follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Danny Lau Memorial Scholarship.
