Angela Ednalino Coombes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on January 10, 1939, in Candelaria, Zambales, Philippines, Angela was the third oldest of 11 siblings, two of whom have predeceased her.
In 1960, she married the love of her life, Rogelio Coombes, and together they built a beautiful family. Angela and Rogelio were blessed with six children: Diana, Noel, Richard, Jorge, Edwin, and Gilbert. Her legacy lives on through her 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory. Rogelio preceded her in death on February 1, 2019, and tragically, her son Edwin passed away on December 14, 2021. Despite these profound losses, Angela remained a source of strength and love for her family.
Angela was known for her strong work ethic and spent many years working at the U.S. Naval Base in the Philippines. In 1986, she made the brave decision to immigrate to the United States with her husband and three of their children. They first settled briefly in San Jose, California, before making their home in Milpitas. There, Angela lived with Rogelio and her daughter Diana, where she helped raise her grandchildren, AJ and Melissa, who held a special place in her heart.
She enjoyed a fulfilling career in technology manufacturing as an assembly technician for over a decade, and in 1993, Angela became a founding member and pioneer of the San Jose Church of Christ. She served faithfully for many years, remaining an active member until her last service on September 8, 2024.
In her later years, Angela embraced her love of travel. She especially cherished trips with her children and her grandchildren. She often traveled back to the Philippines to visit family and to experience the beautiful beaches and resorts she hadn’t had the chance to enjoy before immigrating. Her love of adventure also took her on family trips to Mexico, Hawaii, Washington State, and Las Vegas, where she made lasting memories with her loved ones.
Angela had a zest for life and a warm, generous spirit. She loved cooking, dancing, window shopping, and attending social gatherings with family and friends. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and deep love for her family will always be remembered by those who knew her.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit, love, and values will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
Angela is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nine of her siblings. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
