Nécrologie de Venetia Louise Cadow
In Loving Memory of Venetia “Tia” Louise Cadow 66, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, surrounded by her family and close friends. Born on October 28, 1957, in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, to Peter and Della Kite. Tia lived a remarkable life defined by ambition, creativity, and her deep love for those around her. Tia’s early years were marked by her academic achievement. After moving to the United States, she skipped two grades, graduating from Summit High School in New Jersey. At just 16, she entered Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA, where her journey of growth and achievement truly began. After college, she embarked on a career in the banking industry before fulfilling her entrepreneurial dreams by successfully running her own business for 25 years. Tia was known for her warm and generous spirit. She had a gift for bringing people together and cherished the moments spent with family and friends. She loved hosting holiday gatherings, and Christmas was her favorite time of year—if it had been up to her, it would have been Christmas all year long. A talented cook, Tia delighted in experimenting with new recipes and filling her home with the warmth of good food and lively conversation. Creativity was at the heart of who Tia was. She loved sewing and quilting, and when her daughters were young, she not only made their clothing but also designed and sold children’s clothing to local boutiques. She inherited a love for card games from her mother, especially cribbage, where she routinely bested family and friends. Tia was also a champion for the arts, often hosting art shows and supporting artists in her community. Her meticulous planning and passion for lists made her the ultimate party planner, always ensuring that gatherings were meaningful and memorable. Above all, Tia was a devoted and loving mother. She considered her two daughters, Megan and Kelsey, to be her greatest accomplishments, and her family meant the world to her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; her daughters, Megan (Silas) and Kelsey (Zach); her grand-puppies, Finn and Oliver; and her siblings, Pam (Steve) and EJ (Chelsea). She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. We welcome friends and family to stop by the Celebration of Life for Tia held on October 26, 2024 at 718 Venue (718 Caroline St. Fredericksburg, VA) from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Breath of Hope Lung Foundation at abreathofhope.org, in honor of Tia’s legacy and generous spirit.
