Ronald Anthony Swiatek, 83, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio where he married his high school sweetheart after a tour with the US Army in Japan. The Swiatek family then lived in Arizona for 30+ years before moving to Virginia in the late 1990s.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary; daughter, Susan Mercurio & husband Robert of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Marlene Gailer (Tom) & Sandra Hendricks (John); three brothers, Eric Rompf (Carol), Leif Rompf (Marie), & Rolf Rompf; two grandchildren, Michelle Woodcox (Kevin) & Robert Mercurio (Amy); and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Swiatek, Helen Swiatek-Rompf & Eric Rompf; brother, James Swiatek; and great grandson, Robert James Mercurio.
Ron will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Carriage Hill and Mary Washington Hospital for the all the care they gave.
