Stuart was born to John and Betty Taylor on July 13, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia.
Stuart met and married his wife of 58 years, Doris Taylor, in May of 1964. They raised two children together; Michael and Michelle. He was a loving husband, father, and PopPop. One could honestly say he loved nothing more on earth than his beloved wife.
A devoted Christian, and family man, Stuart very much enjoyed the simple things in life. Simple as it may have seemed, looking sharp was always very important to him; clearly evident by the enormous sneaker collection he amassed over the years. Which, in case you did not know, he usually had a matching shirt hanging in his closet. Anyone who knew Stuart, knew all too well that he had to match. Naturally, he had to smell nice as well. His outward appearance was a visual expression of the good hearted and kind man he was on the inside.
Most of you may not have known that he was an avid player of Freecell and Solitaire on his computer. Had there been a global scoring system, he would likely have held one of the longest winning streaks in the history of those games. He loved him some James Bond movies, Star Trek, TV Westerns, newspaper comics, classic cartoons (like Looney Tunes) and most importantly his daily naps (who doesn’t love a good midday nap?). Of course, none of the aforementioned would be complete without him eating a sandwich, a side of Peanut M&Ms, and drinking the only soda he cared for: Pepsi (since they stopped making RC Cola).
Stuart was an angel on earth. His generosity was unmatched. He loved to show everyone kindness, he knew how to make everyone laugh, and he definitely had some game with ladies. He was one of the most spiritual and sweet men that you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. He knew that everything was in the Lord’s hands and that the Lord had a plan for him. He knew when it was his time to go, and he literally met the Lord with a smile on his face.
Stuart will be missed on Earth, more than anyone could possibly imagine. However, we know he’s at home in Heaven with the Lord. We know that he will be watching over us, guiding us, and protecting us.
Stuart left a lasting legacy of grace and love. We are all truly blessed, and are all much better off, for having known such an incredible man.
