Donna Ayres, born on November 11, 1955 in Washington, D.C., was a woman of unwavering faith and strength. She passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024 at the age of 68 in her Spotsylvania home with her family by her side. Donna leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and devotion.
Donna was a 16 year breast cancer survivor, her courage and determination inspired countless lives. Her unwavering faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, and her favorite Bible verse, John 3:16, was a constant source of comfort and strength.
Donna is reunited with her beloved mother, Gertrude Shultz, and brothers, Steve and John Gricas who preceded her in death.
She will be deeply missed by her surviving loved ones, including her former husband and best friend, Donnie Ayres Sr., children, Donnie Ayres Jr., Angela Ayres Rucker, Derrick Ayres; grandchildren, Marissa Shrader, Alyssa Ayres, Kylie Rucker, Ethan Rucker, Aiden Ayres, Addison Ayres; and great-grand children, Desmond Whitten, Silas Whitten, and Peyton Mitchell, and brother, Billy Gricas and wife Beth.
Donna’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her unshakeable strength in the face of adversity. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all those who knew her.
Rest In peace, Donna. Your strength and love will never be forgotten.
