Timothy W. Roberts

Timothy W. Roberts, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in Middletown, OH. Tim was born in Franklin, OH on March 1st 1960 to Spencer and Nancy (Bray) Roberts. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Tammie Roberts, and granddaughter Naomi Slye. He is survived by his siblings Chuck (Cindy) Roberts, Christina Clark, and Michele Roberts.

Tim was a devoted father. He and Vivian Roberts welcomed Lindsey Slye and Leanna Roberts to the world. He and Teresa Sizemore later welcomed Delanie (Christopher) Bellamy. He leaves behind his grandsons William and Harrison Slye, and Hudson Bellamy. Tim took great pride in his role as a father, stepfather, and grandfather throughout the years.

Tim was a natural competitor, even when it meant rubbing it in his daughters’ faces that he got tanner than they did over the summers. He spent his younger years bowling perfect 300 games and was lovingly known as “Franklin’s Greatest Fattest Athlete.” In the later years of his life he worked for Walker Toyota where his nickname was “Toyota Tim.” He could sell an ice cube to an Eskimo and could always figure out how to help loved ones and friends when they needed it, especially if what they needed was a car. It was a running joke that everywhere he went, he’d run into someone he knew. He made many connections over the years and always seemed to know who to call or what to do. He always encouraged his daughters to take care of business. One of his famous quotes was “What better time than right now?” when they would try and put something off for later.

Some of Tim’s favorite memories included teaching his daughters how to swim, bowling and golfing, owning Lee’s Famous franchises, winning huge prizes at Kings Island for his kids, and his favorite dog Magic having litters of puppies in the house. He would watch Wheel of Fortune ahead of time and pretend to guess the answers when watching with family. He cherished teaching his daughters how to drive (and wishing he had his own emergency break!) Tim loved doing Christmas morning together with his brother and all the kids in the earlier years, and then later making his adult children open presents one by one so it would take as long as possible to savor the moment. He loved talking about how spoiled his daughters were and took pride in ways he was able to provide for his family throughout his life.

Nothing made him happier than seeing his beloved daughters getting along and bonding. Since he was taken too soon, he was unable to come to the beach where his oldest daughter lives. So, Lindsey, Leanna, and Delanie plan to scatter his ashes along the beach for him, together.

To honor Tim's wishes, there will be no funeral service. He didn’t want a big fuss made after he passed but he would love to know we all shared some laughs about the good times. The family invites you to please privately celebrate Tim's memory by bowling, cracking open a cold Diet Coke, watching reality tv, eating at a buffet with your kids, or in any other way that feels appropriate to you. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time, and to everyone who has helped this all come together for us to honor him.
