Robert John LeVangie, aged 76, of Franklin OH, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, went to be with The Lord, late Wednesday evening, January 10, 2024, at Atrium Medical Center. Robert was born in Boston, MA, April 21, 1947.
Robert was married, to his one true love, Oleta G. LeVangie (Yocum) for 54 years. He was a dedicated family provider and father of two daughters, Kristin and Jennifer and grandson Seth. Robert was also a proud Vietnam Veteran, who served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division, as a medic, from 1966-68.
He loved telling stories, making people laugh, showing his knowledge of trivia and being a bit of a grump. Robert loved Oleta, very much and enjoyed being able to provide her with anything her heart desired. In his children, he instilled a great work ethic, retiring from a job he held for decades. He also gave his daughters, their competitive spirit, through his many years of coaching and refereeing. And BONUS, his stubbornness and trademark eyeroll.
This past summer, it was very important to him, to rededicate his life to Jesus Christ and be baptized, for a second time. In his final days, we would catch him smiling at the ceiling. We know he was seeing something truly beautiful, and we hope that gives you comfort.
Robert was preceded in death, by his wife, Oleta G. LeVangie (Yocum), parents, Joseph Edward LeVangie and Frances Elizabeth LeVangie (Stoffel). He is survived by his two daughters, Kristin(Shannon)LeVangie Sheets, Jennifer LeVangie; two grandsons Seth and Quinn; siblings, Joseph(Zella) LeVangie, Patrick (Sandy) LeVangie, Michael LeVangie, Theresa (Frank) Cartwright, David (Brenda) LeVangie and Elizabeth (Jeff) Ryherd; sisters in-law, Janice (Jerry) Brickley and Wanda Yocum; brother in-law, Bill (Becky) Yocum and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements will be held on, Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E Second St, Franklin, OH 45005. Visitation is 11-12:30 w/Services to follow and burial at 2:00PM at Butler County Memorial Park in Trenton. Pastor Tom Allen will be officiating.
